How to disable PDF download option in Dearflip Joomla Flipbook

When you sell PDF content online, your content should not be available to anyone without buying it. Right? If you upload premium PDF content on your site, Dearflip is the must-have extension. Why? Not only does Dearflip transform your PDF files into eye-catchy Flipbooks, but also provides an option to restrict the reader's access to the PDF file as well. For this, you'll need to restrict visitors from downloading the PDF. Dearflip Joomla Flipbook extension by default provides an option to download the PDF from the flipping book's control bar. However, you can disable this option to avoid unauthorized downloads from your Joomla site.

To disable the download option & take these simple steps.

1. Go to Component--> Dearflip
2. Create a new flipbook or click on any existing Book to edit. 
3. Go to the Layout tab
4. Scroll down to find the "Enable Download" option. 
5. From the drop-down menu,  select 'False'.
6. Save the book and visit your site to see the result.

In addition to that, the Dearflip Joomla Flipbook extension encrypts the PDF path to restrict viewers from getting direct access to the PDF file.

Recently we got a support mail highlighting a feature request. 

 I have a feature request:
-protect download link.
Can this be done?
For security reasons, I don't want visitors to have access or view direct links to PDF files.

Within few hours, we launched a new version of Dearflip Joomla Flipbook extension with a feature where PDF file path is encrypted. And replied with the best solution.

You can find an option to disable the pdf download in the Layout tab inside the Dearflip.
Setting 'Enable Download' to false will prevent the users from downloading the pdf directly. Actually, this feature is already present in the current version. Additionally, in V1.0.19 of Dearflip Joomla Flipbook extension, we have encoded the pdf URL inside the source code as well. So that it will be more tricky for a normal user to download your pdf file.

 The fact is, we cannot completely protect the download link because, without the link, pdf won't even load on the client-side.
We can just hide the pdf link in an encoded string so that a normal user will not be able to see the link from inspect element. So we don't assure that your PDF is 100% protected but can make it a bit tricky for your visitors, to download the file.
